PROJECT NAME:  Latitude Blvd. Traffic Signal                                                    PROJECT NUMBER: 0420001

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:  Design, permitting, and construction of mast arms and traffic signals at the intersection of Latitude Blvd., Lakeside Blvd., and US-278.

SUMMARY:  Hardeeville City Council approved completion of traffic signal warrant analysis, bidding 

and contract documents, and construction observation services by Thomas and Hutton Engineering on 

August 20, 2020.  Field work, including traffic counts, were completed on September 24, 2020 and 

the warrant analysis was delivered to the City on October 1, 2020.  Traffic counts were sufficient 

to meet the required signal warrants therefore were submitted to SCDOT for approval.  Bid and 

contract documents have been completed with a bid opening date set for November 5, 2020; upon award 

of a construction contract to a qualified contractor, an order will be placed for mast arms with a 

30 to 40 week lead time for delivery.  While the mast arms are being manufactured, SCDOT permitting 

will be completed.  Installation of the mast arms and traffic signal is anticipated to be complete 

September 2021.
